Emergency Electrician in Bristol

Fast help when something is not right

Electrical faults rarely pick a convenient moment. If your fuse board keeps tripping, sockets have stopped working, you can smell burning near an outlet, or part of your home has lost power, call us on 0117 2447 382. We are a local South Bristol firm, so when we are able to attend we can usually be with you quickly, and we will always tell you honestly on the phone how soon that is.

If you believe there is an immediate danger to life or a fire has started, call 999 first. If you can smell burning from the fuse board or an appliance, switch off the power at the main switch if it is safe to do so.

Problems we deal with

  • Fuse boards (consumer units) that keep tripping or will not reset
  • Complete or partial loss of power in the property
  • Burning smells, scorching or buzzing from sockets, switches or the fuse board
  • Storm, flood or water damage to electrics
  • Faulty circuits after DIY work or damage from drilling and nails
  • Unsafe wiring discovered during other building work

What we do when we arrive

First we make the situation safe. Then we find the fault, explain what has happened in plain English and give you a clear price for the repair before any chargeable work starts. Many faults can be fixed on the spot. If your fault points to a wider problem, such as an ageing fuse board or deteriorating wiring, we will tell you honestly and can quote for a consumer unit upgrade or rewiring work, but we will never pressure you into work you do not need.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can you get to me?

It depends on the day and where you are. We are based in South Bristol, so for BS13, BS14, BS3, BS4 and BS41 we can often attend the same day. Call us and we will give you an honest arrival time straight away.

My fuse board keeps tripping. What should I do before you arrive?

Unplug appliances on the affected circuit, then try resetting the switch. If it holds, one of the appliances is likely at fault. If it will not reset or trips again immediately, leave it off and call us; repeatedly forcing a tripping device can be dangerous.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

We will explain exactly how pricing works when you call, before we attend, so there are no surprises. Diagnosing the fault comes first and you will get a clear price before any repair work starts.
