Electrical Installation Condition Reports, done properly
An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a formal inspection of the fixed wiring in a property: the consumer unit, circuits, sockets, switches and earthing. It confirms whether the installation is safe to remain in service and lists any defects with a clear code so you know exactly what needs attention and how urgently.

EICRs for landlords
If you let residential property in England, you must have the electrical installation inspected and tested at least every five years and give a copy of the report to your tenants, and to the local authority if they ask for it. New tenancies need a valid report before tenants move in. We work with private landlords and letting agents across Bristol and can schedule around tenants, provide reports promptly after inspection, and quote for any remedial work in the same visit.

Frequently asked questions
How often do I need an EICR?
For rented homes in England, at least every five years or at change of tenancy as required. For owner-occupied homes, the general recommendation is every ten years. Commercial premises vary by use and insurance requirements, and we can advise on the right interval for yours.
How long does an EICR take?
It depends on the size and age of the property and the number of circuits. A typical two or three bedroom home usually takes a few hours. We will give you a time estimate when we book you in.
What happens if my EICR is unsatisfactory?
The report will list coded observations. C1 and C2 items mean the installation is unsatisfactory and remedial work is needed. We quote for the fixes, carry them out at a time that suits you and issue certification confirming the installation is safe.
